Welcome to Cary's Comics Craze!

Welcome to the new home of Cary's Comics Craze, the online version of my twice-monthly column in the NORWALK REFLECTOR newspaper!

Here at Cary's Comics Craze, I'll be focusing on opinion pieces covering what I affectionately call the "cape and cowl crowd." That's right — superheroes!

CCC will focus on DC Comics and Marvel Comics and feature a large dose of Batman, the Dark Knight's "family," Batgirl (my favorite fictional redhead), Captain America, The Avengers and the X-Men since they're my favorite characters. Also, you'll be reading posts about Daredevil, Spider-Man and Wolverine.

Expect to read op-eds and reviews on Marvel and DC animation and live-action (movie and TV) projects plus random issues and trade paperbacks/hardbacks.

Occasionally I'll be posting exclusive interviews with writers, artists and inkers from the comic-book industry as well as cosplayers. Also expect coverage of comic cons I have attended — and photo galleries of warped memes that have inspired me and one of my best friends, mememaster Aaron Dees.

The makeup era is my favorite for "My Boyz," KISS!
But CCC is about more than just my favorite spandex-clad warriors.

So don't be surprised when you find postings on some of my other favorite things/celebrities and obsessions. I'll be blogging about the NFL — specifically the Washington Redskins (#httr and #httr4life, baby!) and my second team, the Cleveland Browns (yeah, I've been following some really ugly pro football lately!)

The NBA will get some love too with my thoughts on the Cleveland Cavaliers. (World champions, baby!!)

And of course this dedicated classic rocker (who loves 80s pop) will cover some rock-n-roll, especially from my all-time favorite performer, David Bowie (I wrote multiple tributes after my main man died!) and KISS and of course, some "Star Wars" and "Star Trek."

As I tell people about the print version of Cary's Comics Craze (in print since January 2005), CCC features my views, reviews, previews and some news — and even some interviews of my favorite artists or writers in the comic book industry.

I hope you enjoy what I'll be posting. If so, spread the word, talk up CCC, give other fans my website address and make sure you post comments and questions so we can talk shop.
